Vietnam Veterans, family members, friends, and special guests gather at the American Legion Post in Jackson, Wyoming, part of a nationwide commemorative event to honor all Vietnam Veterans. The event, sponsored by the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, was held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016.

Captain Ed Liebzeit spoke of his experiences during three tours of duty in Southeast Asia as a United States Air Force pilot, during the Vietnam Veterans event. The event, sponsored by the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, was held on March 29, 2016. (Pictured Left to Right): Capt. Liebzeit and Davey Jackson member Nancy
T.R. Pierce served in the U.S. Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War. He spoke at the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, event honoring Vietnam Veterans, on March 29, 2016. After sharing some war time experiences, he closed saying, "One thing we never heard when we got back, that I just want to say to all of you, 'Welcome home.' "
Chip White served in the U.S.Navy as a pilot during the Vietnam War. In the final days of the war, he flew many missions back and forth from Saigon to U.S. aircraft carriers in the region, evacuating members of the U.S. Armed Forces and Vietnam nationals. He is shown here at the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, event, honoring our veterans, March 29, 2016.
Vietnam Veteran Rob Eckert shared some of his experiences during the war, at the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, Commemoration Event held on March 29, 2016. He also spoke of learning to play the guitar after the war and how much that means to him to this day.
U.S. Naval Academy Graduate William Smith served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. He recalled being "spit upon" when in his uniform. During the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, March 29, 2016 event, he said he is "extremely happy for the honor and respect" our troops are given today.
Vietnam Veteran Gene Bauer (Center) talked about his experiences in Vietnam, during the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, Commemorative Event, March 29, 2016. At the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR, Commemorative Event, March 29, 2016, Vietnam Veteran Wally Kauffman talked about the hardship of serving in the Vietnam War. He also shared that another soldier told him about Jesus. Wally said that after he discovered a personal relationship with Jesus, he never felt alone again.
Veteran Paul Barbour served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and is now the Chaplain of the American Legion Post #43 in Jackson, Wyoming. Paul brought the Vietnam War Commemorative Event to a close with prayer. Approximately 75 persons in all attended the March 29, 2016 event, hosted by the Davey Jackson Chapter, NSDAR.
